You can administer Modular Messaging to perform alarm notification
via SNMP to specified NMSs.
Types of Modular Messaging alarm notifications include:
- Major alarms raised
- Major and Minor alarms raised
- Warning alarm raised
- Alarm resolved
Use the following web-administration pages to administer NMSs for alarm notification via SNMP:
- Configure Alarms: Use the Configure Alarms page
to configure alarm notification via SNMP, modem dial out to an INADS destination, or internet using HTTPS.
To access the Configure Alarms page, select Alarming > Alarming Configuration from the
Messaging Administration main menu. For more information about the fields on this page,
click the field names or click Help.
- Administer SNMP Trap Destinations: Use this page
to administer NMSs to receive alarm notifications (traps).
To administer NMSs to receive traps, start at the Messaging Administration
main menu, and then select Alarming > SNMP Trap Destinations. See Administering SNMP for more information on the steps you must complete to administer SNMP on the Modular Messaging system.
