Adding a new SNMP NMS for alarms

This topic provides information about adding new SNMP network management stations (NMSs) to the system to monitor alarms. SNMP NMSs can be configured to monitor (but not to acknowledge) system alarms and events.

To add a new SNMP NMS to the system to monitor alarms:

1. Start at the Administration menu, and then select Basic System Administration > SNMP Administration > SNMP NMS Administration for Alarms.
   The system displays the SNMP NMS Administration for Alarms page.
2. Click Add.
   The system displays the Add New SNMP NMS for Alarms page.
3. Complete the fields on the page. You can click the field names or click Help on the Web-based administration page to view more information.
4. Click Save.
   The system saves your changes.
5. Click OK to confirm addition of the new NMS for alarms.
   The system displays the SNMP NMS Administration for Alarms page with an updated list of NMSs capable of monitoring system alarms.
