To restore power to the system:
- For a rack-mount unit: Reattach any cables you might
have unplugged from the back of the machine.
- Plug the AC power cord back into the power outlet on the unit.
- The following machines use a single AC cord. See figure:
- The MSS-H high-availability configuration might have one
or two power switches and one or two AC cords, depending on
the type of redundant power supply installed. See figure MSS
high-availability configuration (back view).
- For the vertically stacked model:
- Plug the AC cord into each power supply.
- Push the rocker switch on each power supply to turn
on the power.
- For the side-by-side model:
- Plug in the AC cord.
- Push the rocker switch below the power supplies to
turn on the power.
- Press the power button on the front of the machine.
The green power lamp on the front of the machine should light.
- On the MAS: When the reboot is complete, log in, and
then verify that all installed Modular Messaging services are
started. These services all begin with the abbreviation MM.
To check or restart messaging services:
- Double-click the Monitor icon on the desktop.
- In the Monitor window, click Services (Local) in
the left pane (if it is not already selected).
- In the right pane, scroll down to the list of Modular Messaging
(MM) services. Verify that the Status column shows that service
is started for each installed messaging service, and that
the startup type is set to Automatic.
- If any MM service is stopped or if the Status column
is blank, do the following to set up all Modular Messaging
services correctly:
- Click Start > Run to open the Run window.
- In the Open field, type the following and press
Enter: C:\Avaya_Support\Scripts\serverrecovery.vbs
The script takes a few seconds to run.
-
Refresh the screen to verify that all installed MM
services are started and set to Automatic.
- When finished, close the Monitor window.
- Continue with any verification procedures needed to return the
system to service.
