View Partition Status screen

The hard drive on every Avaya media server reserves two partitions for system software. Use this screen for diagnostic purposes to find out the software version installed in each partition of the server's hard disk. Additionally, you can determine which software version is currently active and which partition will become active when the server reboots. This topic covers:

To view the status of the server's hard disk partitions:

  1. On the web administration interface's main menu under Server Configuration and Upgrades, click  View Partition Status.

  2. The View Partition Status screen appears. The table shows the status of each partition on this server as follows:

Physical Partition. This column identifies the two physical areas of the disk drive that are reserved for system software:

  1. When finished, continue working with the web administration interface as needed.

The following tables show how the partition changes during a software installation.

Stable system. Before a software upgrade, the server software setup looks like this:

Software installed but not made permanent. This server is running the new version of software. The pre-upgrade version remains intact on the previously active partition. It is flagged as the version to run on the next reboot, in case there is a problem with the new software.

Return to stable state. As soon as verification testing is complete, the Make Server Upgrade Permanent screen commits the new software to operation. When the server reboots, it runs the new software.
