Start ASA

Normally administrators click a shortcut link to run Avaya Site Administration (ASA) directly from their computer desktops. You can, however, launch the ASA software from the media server web interface.

Caution:
ASA only works on a computer running a compatible Microsoft Windows operating system. See Download ASA for details.

Starting ASA from the web interface

To launch the ASA software from the media server web interface:

  1. In the menu under Telephony Administration, select Start ASA.

  2. The ASA program that is installed on your computer launches.

Note

If the ASA program is not installed, the program does not launch and you are prompted to open or download a file (see Problems with the Start ASA link below).

Problems with the Start ASA link

If you click the Start ASA link and the program is not installed on your computer:

  1. You are prompted to open or download a file. For example, you may see an Unknown File Type or a File Download dialog box.

  2. Do not save this file to your disk. It contains no useful information.

  3. Cancel out of the dialog box and return to the media server web interface.

  1. In the main menu under Telephony Administration, click the Download ASA link and save the ASA program to disk.

  2. After the file is downloaded, run the ASA installation program.

  3. After ASA is installed, the Start ASA link should launch the program.
