New User :- All I want to do is get one-x to register to a station

Hello,
I am very new to Avaya (having previously worked briefly on a Definity G3 > 13 years ago).
I have done the following :-

1. Setup CM 7 on vmware (no license.. using 30 day grace period)
2. Setup SMGR on vmware .. SMGR and CM7 communicate successfully
3. Setup a very simple dialplan with only 1 entry

4. Added a station as ip-softphone and 46xx or 96xx series (it added ok)

4. Installed One-X (v6) on a PC

When I try and start one-X communicator (H.323) , it fails with
denial event=2041 IP RRJ-No DSP Resource d1=0000 d2=x.x.x.x
Now this could be because I have no Media Server installed.

If instead I move to SIP and install a Session Manager, would I be able to get this to work without a Media Server ? [ i.e with some special setting for media shuffling, so all media is only p2p and no DSP resources are needed ? ]

Any tips on how I can get this "hello world" setup going would be highly appreciated.
