I'm currently using a CSU120A module on the back of the TN464 GP for a PRI that connects to an Audiocodes 1000B gateway for Unified Messaging. The distance is less than 25 feet. I'm using a T1 crossover cable, and that set up works without an issue.
However, I'd like to get away from the CSU module, and use another non-loop back adapter such as a 356A adapter. From my understanding, port #8 on the 356 adapter is for DS1 connectivity, but when I change to the 356 adapter, I immediately loose service. No error lights on the board, and no errors to report. Status of the trunk says out-of-service-NE. When I change back to the CSU, service is restored immediately.
Suggestions on what I can change in order for the 365 adapter to work? Is there a setting, (besides changing the Near-end CSU Type setting on the DS1 config page) that needs to be changed?
Different cable?
Is there a different recommended adapter besides the 356?

Thanks.
