I just searched on a thread: IP Phone "noise" on CM 3.X that was posted on August 5, 2006 04:37 AM. I tried several iterations without success. for example . . .

Please help me understand why.

Try searching the keyword "IP Phone noise" on Google first and include avaya. It should lead you to forum threads that are related and give you hints on what words to use to reiterate it.
