Need help with "call barring" IP Office 6.1

    Hi all,

Looking for some help, I currently have a phone located in our plant lobby area that is programmed to dial internal only and the 6 extension buttons programmed. You can also manually punch in any random extension and get through as well, this is what I'm trying to get rid of. We basically want it to dial the 6 programmed ext's ONLY.

I've spoken to an AVAYA rep who sent directions to create a hunt group and short code to link with the user rights that we have on this particular line. When I did this all other 274 phones disconnected with no dial tone so I had to revert back to the previous state.

    Please Help!!!!

You need to set the extension to hot dial a specific number whenever it goes off-hook (anyone lifts the handset or starts dialing).

That can be done with a ?D/extensionnumber/DialExtn shortcode in the extension user's personal short codes. Either target one of the 6 extensions they are allowed to dial or a group containing those 6 is some order of priority.

Just tested this on a 9508 and the programmable buttons to the 6 individual users will still work in parallel with the hot dial action.

This works! thank you so much for your help. I found that my initial problem was that I was putting the ?D in for the shortcode name which was confusing the system. Again, thanks for your help, it's greatly appreciated!

How to call restrict any other number except 5 local numbers

The user should be able to do emergency calls as well as internal calls and able to make 5 external.

        Please share the configuration.

No. Please start a new thread and provide a bit more description of what you want to achieve rather than hijacking an existing thread for which a solution has been supplied.
