We have been using Nortel Contivity VPN Client - previous versions (5, 6, 7, 8) and now we are moving to Windows 7 and have Contivity VPN Client 10.04.016 in our computer builds. In the older versions of the VPN Client we were able to choose an option "Logoff on Connect" so that after the user connected to the Nortel appliance their Windows computer would logoff and then log back on so that domain scripts could be run to map drives and push policy etc. We cannot find this option anywhere in the new version. Does anyone know where this option went and why it was removed? Any ideas on how to "easily" get this same functionality with the new version of the Client? We have about 12,000 users so this is going to be a big headache... Thanks!

The "logoff on connect" feature has been removed in 10.04 16 VPN Client.
On Windows 7, users can use the PLAP to log on to a Windows domain.
On XP, domain logon can be achieved through "Two-Step logon" which is explained below.
1. User logs on to the machine using local account
2. Launch NVC in administrator mode
3. Go to "Edit the Profile" dialog and then take "Manage Options" dialog.
4. To set the log-off behavior, check the "Display the warning message if the VPN tunnel is still up" option
5. Bring up tunnel
6. Manually log-off operating system. Tunnel will be maintained by NVC service component.
7. User logs back in using a domain account. This time, the logon authentication will be done through the tunnel with the Active Directory on the domain.

NVC provides PLAP feature for domain logon on Vista and Windows 7 operating
