    IPO 8.0 - disable VM for internal calls

    Greetings.
    We have a customer with an IP500v2 running R8.0(22) Preferred Edition with Voicemail Pro.
    This customer needs every station (16xx IP sets) to have voicemail enabled for external calls.
    For internal calls they would like to rather have the option for:
    a) leave a message after X seconds
    or
    b) keep waiting for someone to pick up the call

    Earlier (or shall I say ancient) versions of IP Office didn't even have VM for internal calls, period.
    So, is this do-able? Can we at least disable the VM for internal calls?

    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers

    No, IPO can not do that. I would think it is more of a training thing, tell the employees not to leave a voice-mail.

    You could turn the VM answer time to like 60 seconds, and set up the users to queue the calls. if the internal people get into the users queue, hang up.

      Too bad it can't be setup that way...

        Why not? I can build that if a customer wants it.

        create a shortcode
        SC = 91XXX
        TN = "#"N
        Action = VoiceMailCollect
        LineID = 0

        User settings
        Disable VM, forward on busy/no answer to 91<users ext.nmbr>
        disable forwarding for internal calls

        Ring timeout = 15 seconds

        program a key with the function to enable/disable forwarding for internal calls

          Hi havel3,
          That's quite a nice hack.
          And it works good.
          We were thinking about something more simple, like a on/off feature...
          But we will consider this as a workaround.
          Thanks

            Why hack? Why not just use the product that you have. Edit the default callflow for leaving a message to branch between external calls (go to a leave mail action) and internal calls (go to whatever you want). That can be done using a Route Incoming Call action. So easy and flexible.
