Can calls to my local PBX's huntgroup also be answered from remote site extensions?

I have Avaya IP Offices at my main site and at a remote site. Both sites are connected using a H323 line, subtype H540 over VPN.

I have an incoming call route with a huntgroup as its destination at my main site. This huntgroup's ring mode is set to 'Collective Call Waiting'. This works as expected, however, if calls to my local huntgroup go unanswered after a few rings, I'd like to transfer the call to an extension or a huntgroup at my remote site.

Is it possible to do this? At my local site I have created a dummy extension set to forward unconditionally to an extension at the remote site. However, when I try calling the huntgroup, only local extensions seem to show up on System Status. The dummy extension doesn't show up at all. Calling the huntgroup while checking active calls on the remote PBX's site shows a call actually arriving at the remote PBX, but for a very brief moment, and then disappearing, meaning it is actually going through to the remote PBX. Is the call not being established because of a licensing issue though? I read that I need to have the IP office SCN license and currently, both offices are connected using an H323, subtype H540 line.

To send calls to hunt group members on the other side you need to setup an SCN with the correct voice networking licenses, and setup the hunt groups as part of the solution so they can contain members from both sites.

Otherwise, another option as it is could be to setup an overflow sequential hunt group with one virtual member and an unconditional forward. When the first group rings x number of times you can have it overflow to the sequential group which will forward the call to the other side. On the other side you can just have the incoming call route target a hunt group, but you will never get the call back to the main group for voicemail.

The licensing requirements will depend on which particular release of IP Office you are using but there will be licenses required (and VCM channel resources).
