Question S8300D in a G450 on a different subnet

Is it possible to have a S8300D-G450 in ICC configuration where the S8300D would be on a different subnet than the G450 it is plugged into? My customer wants to clearly separate hub from site infrastructure by IP address range: they decided that the S8300D system platform, console domain and ACM, CMM would sit on subnet 10.195.224.x and the Media Gateway into which the S8300D is plugged in would be on subnet 10.195.225.x . Will that work? Any performance impact if all traffic has to go through a L3 switch between S8300D and G450? Thanks
