Hi Everyone,
Can anyone guide me on how to register Cisco SPA9XX/5XX SIP phones to Avaya Session Manager 6.2. Is this supported at all? My search over the past few weeks produces references to the Cisco 79XX phones for such setups but not the SPA??? Generally, what are the guidelines for registering third party SIP deskphones to ASM? Are the configuration steps on ASM similar to that of Avaya 96XX phones? Many thanks for any assistance. Tony |

Avaya has not tested the Cisco SPA telephones with Session Manager so there are no Application Notes for this. Without Application Notes, we have no way to know requirements or functionality, so this would be permissive.
We did test the SPA921 SIP telephone with the SES. The Application Note can be found at: https://devconnect.avaya.com/public/download/interop/LinksysSPA921.pdf |

Thanks MSkinner,
I actually came across that document some weeks ago while searching for application notes. I tried adapting to ASM 6.2 to no avail hence my post. I was hoping somebody had actually got it to work with ASM (supported or otherwise) and could provide some insite into this. I am working on a migration project for a customer who doesn't want to just "throw away" some 300+ Cisco SPA phones.... ![]() Perhaps I should ask what the general rule of thumb is for registering third party SIP endpoints to ASM? Would like to really give this a good try ... ![]() Any assistance would be of great help indeed. Thanks! Tony |

Well, just to say I finally managed to get the SPA phones to register to and work with ASM. I used the same guidelines as outlined in the SES integration doc.
Thanks! Tony |
