Hi all,
I have setup a lab system where I am trying to use port 411 instead of 443 for Equinox presence and directory searches. So "Use preferred ports" is enabled on the IPO. When the IP Office has SIP TLS enabled + Use Preferred Ports is enabled in the config of IPO: the Equinox is using port 411 -> prefect ! but when IP Office has SIP TLS DISabled + Use preferred ports is enabled in the config of IPO: the Equinox client is still using 443 although is shouldn't. Am I missing something here? I need to set this up without use of TLS in the lab. Using Equinox 3.5.6 IP Office R11 FP4 Thank you. |

Please try the following for
TCP/411 to be used instead of TCP/443: - System/ Preferred Phone Ports = selected - LANx/Layer 4 Protocol /TLS Port:= unselected - Equinox client Version: 3.5.7.30.1 - Equinox client setup URL https://<server_IP<https://%3cserver_IP> >:411/46xxsettings.txt |

So in the more secure scenario it works as you want. Why not then use the more secure scenario rather than worry about the odd behaviour of the less secure option?

The topic is still not really covered in the manuals.
When 'preferred ports' are used, it must be 411 instead of 443 and 8411 instead of 80. Even if the default ports are still supported for some other endpoints, Equinox, which in the meantime is called Workplace, must use only 411 and not 411 and 443. I say this because some documents still just talk about 443. In a SR-Ticket I have opened, Support is asking me to allow 443 in addition to 411 because of issues with presence. ![]() |

Hi, I started this topic some years ago.
We have been using preffered ports 411 for all our installations the past +3 years. We have had no issue with it. The only thing we must think of is to manually add the location of the 46xx to Spaces and prevent auto sync of the files location because it will use 443 then. r Maarten |
