    ISDN PRI E1 Problem

    Hello,

I have an IPO 500v2 Rls.9, having Phone2 Base Card fitted with an ISDN PRI E1 trunk card with 8 channels, no additional license customer purchased.
The ISDN PRI EI Interface coming from orange have 15 channels.
The Customer complains that sometimes all they can't make calls and receive calls.
After test and check the problems through the SSA and SysMonitor found that the PRI working on linear state as follows :

Channel 1 (Orange PRI) - Channel 1 (IP Office)
Channel 2 (Orange PRI) - Channel 2 (IP Office)
Channel 3 (Orange PRI) - Channel 3 (IP Office)
    .
    .
    .
    .
Channel 8 (Orange PRI) - Channel 8 (IP Office)

From Channel 9 to 15, when dialing the number just silence for no limit time, no busy tone or anything. when calling the number is busy.
This case is repeated until you reach the channel 1 again or power off the IPO and restart count the channel again.
We call the orange telecom to down the lines from 15 to 8 Channels, and answered us that is not acceptable
and the customer don't want to purchase additional 8 license, because no need of it.

Is there any workaround solution to solve this issues ?? I remember in Avaya CM we can choose round-robin cyclical than linear, this cause that any channels coming from line provider goes to any free channels on CM.
Hope from experienced here suggest a best solution for this ?

    Thanks you and Best Regards

Verify that your trunk group is assign to the first 8 channels only.

The by default the trunk hunts ascending for outbound, and descending for inbound. To change this you must change 23-1 to 23-1 at the IP Office side. Don't forget to change the sequence at the remote switch as well, this will avoid collisions between your B-Channels.

      hi ,
dont panic . you just need to block pri channels to resolve problem.

open avaya manager-----select pri-----pri line---line sub type as ETSI.
      Numbers of pri channels-----8.
      outgoing channels---------------8.
      voice channels---------------8..

PRI channels should match in PBX and provider side.

You did say, provider orange delivers 16 channels (and your customer is paying them each month, I guess...) but your IPO has just 8 channels.
Why not purcheas 8 additional channels?

It's cheaper than spending hours to tweak around...
