Repair procedure

The steps that follow are suggestions. For assistance, contact your database administrator or database vendor.

To correct the problem:

  1. Enter /oracle/bin/oerr ora error_num.
  2. error_num is the ORACLE error number in the reason field of the error message.

The output will contain a brief explanation of the error, the cause of the error, and the action to take to correct the error.

    Note:
Also see the ORACLE Error Messages and Codes Manual for the explanation. Often, the online explanation will not be as complete as the manual explanation. If the error is unique to the UNIX environment, see the ORACLE for UNIX Technical Reference Guide for detailed information.

  3. Take the prescribed actions to correct the problem.
  4. Reboot the system.
  5. If the database system cannot be started due to file corruption, restore the database directory from the system backup.
  6. If no backup is available, remove and reinstall the ORACLE Integration package. See your ORACLE installation documentation.

    Warning:
All current database data will be lost after the package is reinstalled.
