persistent-hosts
Controls whether an unreachable subnet affects or does not affect the availability score of service-provider links. A subnet is unreachable when probes on all service-provider links fail.
The no form of this command restores the default value:
- When entered in Adaptive Routing Engine Configuration mode, the command restores the default value for the global setting.
- When entered in Policy Configuration mode, the command restores the default value for the policy decision.
For more information on the command modes for the persistent-hosts command, see Command modes.

Table 27: persistent-hosts arguments
| Argument |
Description |
|
|
Marks a subnet not-rescued when probes to it fail.
A subnet is not-rescued when probes to targets on the subnet fail, and CNA cannot find an alternate path to the targets (all service provider links have outages for the subnet). Not-rescued subnets affect the availability score of service-provider links.
Use this option for subnets that contain persistent hosts such as routers, gateways, and so forth.
|
|
|
Marks a subnet insufficient data when probes on all service-provider links fail.
Subnets that are marked insufficient data do not affect the availability score of service-provider links. If CNA is operating in route assert mode, asserted routes for the subnet are withdrawn.
Use this option for subnets that contain non-persistent hosts such as PCs, laptops, and so forth.

the global setting.
The global setting applies to all subnets that:
l are not assigned a policy decision
l are assigned a decision policy that does not explicitly set this parameter.
|
Policy Configuration mode
|
The policy decision applies to all subnets to which it is assigned. This setting overrides the global setting.
NOTE: Any parameter not explicitly set in a decision policy assumes the globally set value for that parameter.
