If you select a language that is not translated (a language other than one of translated languages provided with the software) then you will receive a message informing you that you need to modify the phrases.txt filego to Step 4 if you are required to modify the phrases.txt file; otherwise, go to Step 8.
Do the following for each language that you have selected:
Open the phrases.txt file (located in icm\default\resources\{new language}\phrases.txt), and translate all the strings (information to the right of the "=" sign) to the selected language (do not translate the Keys, the strings to the left of the = sign).
Do the following for each language that you have selected:
In the phrases.txt file (located in icm\default\resources\{new language}\phrases.txt), enter the new language under the # Language Names section. For example, if you are adding Dutch as the new language, you must add the following text under the # Language Names section: nl= Dutch. The # Language Names section is used to display messages such as "The caller's language is in Dutch" instead of "The caller's language is in nl."
If the language you have selected does not use the ISO 88591 character set, then you must add the following parameter in that language's phrases.txt file:
charSet={character set}
For example: charSet=Big5
Big5 is the character set for Traditional Chinese
Save and close each phrases.txt file that you have modified.
Optional: Administer the PagePops for the new language (located within the Default arena). For example, you may want your PagePops to be in the language that you just added; therefore, you will have to provide URLs for pages that are in that language. See Administer PagePops for Internet sessions for instructions on administering PagePops.
Delete a language
When you delete a lanaguage, you are removing the language for use with your system. After a language is deleted, it will no longer be visible to you in the Delete Languages frame.
The Delete Languages frame provides the interface for removing a language from the list of languages in use. To remove a language, simply select the Yes option located in the Delete column for the language that you want to remove. The Language Administration Web page will not allow you to delete a language that is associated with an arena. To delete a language that is associated with an arena, you must use the Languages for Arenas Administration Web page (see Select a language to use in your arena).
You can always re-select the language you removed by selecting it again from the Add Language frame.
Note that deleting a language using the Administration Web page just affects the administration Web pages. The {language} directory and associated files are not deleted.
