Install Message Care software 

Before you install the messaging software, stop the IIS service.

Installation procedures

To install the Message Care software, do the following:

  1. Place the Message Care CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive on the Message Care Server. Start Windows NT explorer and double click on the CD-ROM drive.

    Result:

    The Explorer file pane will display a list of installation files.

  2. To start the Message Care installation, double-click the file called setup.exe.

    Result:

    This will start the install program.

    You can cancel the installation at any time by selecting the cancel button. If you cancel the installation, the install program will remove any changes made to your system.

  3. Please read the information in the Installshield Welcome dialog box carefully and follow all of the instructions. Once you have read all of the instructions, select the Next button to continue.

    Result:

    The Software License Agreement dialog box appears.

  4. From the Software License Agreement dialog box, read the license agreement and select Yes if you agree to the terms in the license agreement. Select No if you do not agree and want to abort the installation of Message Care.

    Result:

    If you select the Yes button, the Install Message Care dialog box appears.

  5. The Install Message Care dialog box allows you to choose the directory where the messaging software will be installed. The following information describes each of the items in the dialog box:

    • Browse button�this button displays a dialog box that will allow you to change the Destination Folder of the messaging software if you do not want to use the default.

    • Disk Space Button�this button changes only the disk drive (for example, C: or D:) of the Destination Folder. This value is the drive where you installed the messaging software.

  6. When you have selected the install location and the component values, select the Next button.

    Result:

    The Message Care Log File Location dialog box appears.

  7. From the Message Care Log File Location dialog box, use the Browse button to enter the directory that you listed in the Required installation information table for theLog File Directory field. Once you have the correct value in the Destination Folder, select the Next button.

    Result:

    The ITG Location dialog box appears.

  8. From the ITG Location dialog box, use the Browse button to enter the directory that you listed in the Required installation information table for the ICM directory field. Once you have the correct value in the Destination Folder, select the Next button.

    Result:

    The Select Program Folder dialog box appears.

  9. The Select Program Folder dialog box is used to change the name of the program folder that is installed on the Start button. Change the name of the program folder or use the default, and then select the Next button.

    Result:

    The Distinct License Keys dialog box appears.

  10. From the Distinct License Keys dialog box, enter the Distinct license keys that came with your software. The Number field should contain the value in the Required Installation Information table for the Extension Number field. The Key field should contain the value in the Required Installation Information table for the Extension Key field. Select the Next button.

    Result:

    A question dialog box appears prompting you to install the Avaya RMM. The RMM is the Remote Maintenance Monitor.

  11. Select the Yes button to install RMM.

    Result:

    The Welcome (to the RMM Setup program) dialog box appears.

  12. Select the Next button to continue with the RMM installation.

    Result:

    The Choose Destination Location dialog box appears.

  13. From the Choose Destination Location dialog box, use the Browse button to select another directory to install the Maintenance Monitor. Select the Next button to continue.

    Result:

    The Select Program Folder dialog box appears.

  14. From the Select Program Folder dialog box, choose or rename the default name of the folder for the Maintenance Monitor as it will appear in the Start button. Select the Next button to continue.

    Result:

    The setup program copies the files to the destination directory and enters the registry entries for the Maintenance Monitor. This process takes a few moments before the next dialog box appears.

  15. The dialog box gives you the option to install a shortcut icon on the desktop for easy access to the messaging software.

    Result:

    After you make your selection, the Setup Complete dialog box appears.

  16. From the Setup Complete dialog box, select the View README file check box if you want to read the README file before the install completes. Otherwise, select the Finish button to complete the installation.
