Run the Data Transformation Scripts (DTS) for empty databases

How to run the DTS for empty databases

Important!

Execute the DTS only after an installation of Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 software and Message Care software. If you must run the DTS after you have been using the messaging software, do so with extreme caution. Running the DTS will result in a loss of data.

To create database tables for a new installation, do the following:

  1. From the Start button, select Programs->Microsoft SQL Server 7.0->Enterprise Manager. Expand the Microsoft SQLServer->SQL Server Group, and then locate and expand your SQL Server machine name.

  2. Run the DTS to initialize the MCAdmin Database by doing the following in the order shown:

    • Right-click the Data Transformation Services.

    • Select All Tasks, and then select Open Package.

    • From the MessageCare directory, select SQLTools->Install->CreateEmptyAdmin.dts.

    • Select the Package menu, and then click Execute.

    • Click Done.

  3. Run the DTS to initialize the MCArchive Database by doing the following in the order shown:

    • Right-click on the Data Transformation Services.

    • Select All Tasks, and then select Open Package.

    • From the MessageCare directory, select SQLTools->Install->CreateEmptyArchive.dts.

    • Select the Package menu, and then click Execute.

    • Click Done.

  4. Run the DTS to initialize the MCMessages Database by doing the following in the order shown:

    • Right-click on the Data Transformation Services.

    • Select All Tasks, and then select Open Package.

    • From the MessageCare directory, select SQLTools->Install->CreateEmptyMessages.dts.

    • Select the Package menu, and then click Execute.

    • Click Done.
