Save translations

Return to Task List

Note: The translations on duplicated systems must match exactly or the command fails.

Duplicated systems only

  1. Execute status system 1 before you save translations.

  2. Verify that conditions are normal (this can take as long as 5 to 10 minutes). If the system refuses to go into a normal condition, refer to the maintenance procedures; if that fails, escalate the problem.

All systems

  1. Ensure that the translation card is in the TN2401 (Netcon/Pkt Intf) circuit pack's card slot.

  2. Type save translation and press Return to write all translations from memory to the translation flashcard (about 10 minutes).

  3. The screen goes blank. This is normal.

Note: Do not press any keyboard key until after the system displays the status (success or failure) message. If you press Return again, you will not see the status message.

  1. Ensure that the save translation command was successful (Error Code must be zero). If the value is anything else, the translations were not copied to the flashcard. If the translations are corrupted, the following error message appears when logging in:

Danger! Translation corruption detected; call Avaya immediately.

  1. If the save translation command fails, do not continue. Record the error code that appears on the screen and escalate the problem immediately.

  2. Remove the translation card from the slot. Keep the translation media in a safe and secure place. In case of failure, use this translation to restore the system.
