	Previewing a Media Page

Previewing a media page allows you to play back any media page in a prompt during design time.

To preview a media page:

1. Right-click on your media page and select Preview Media Page.

• Dialog Designer starts Tomcat if it is not already started.

• A Media Preview dialog box displays which allows you to hardcode a value for any variables or conditions found on the media page.

  Name	(Read only) Displays the name(s) of the variables set on your media page.	NA
  Value	Enter the value of the variabe field when you preview the media page for the first time. Next time you preview the media page, Dialog Designer displays the variable value set by you.	Yes
  Condition	(Read only) Displays the condition(s) set on your media page.	NA
  Evaluates to	Set this field to true or false as appropriate for the condiition.	Yes

  
  

• A smil file is generated with a unique name and stored in <project>/data/<language>/prompts/cache.

• Dialog Designer then invokes the Ambulant player and sends the smil file to the Ambulant player for playback.

2. Once the playback completes, you can manually close the player or the player will restart the next time you preview a media page.

3. You can make changes to the media file and repeat steps 1 and 2 to preview your changes.
