Removing an Analog-line Interface Card

Complete the following procedure to remove an interface card from the platform. Use the Analog-line Interface Card diagram as a guide to switch and jumper locations when removing a card.

Damage from electrostatic discharge is possible. See Protecting Against ESD Damage for more information.

To remove an analog-line interface card:

  1. Verify that the replacement card is on site and appears to be in usable condition with no obvious shipping damage.
  2. If the system is in service, complete the following steps:
    1. Stop the voice system.
    2. Shut down the voice system.
  3. Remove the incoming power.
  4. Remove the PC cover.
  5. Locate the card you want to replace.
  6. Disconnect the phone lines from the card.
  7. If more than one card is installed, disconnect the CT Bus cable from the card you are replacing and from any adjacent cards as necessary to remove the faulty card.

Note: Pay close attention to the card connections to make it easier to connect the the replacement card.
  8. Remove the retaining screw from the slot faceplate and save it.
  9. Remove the card from the slot by gently pulling on each corner of the card. Note the slot assignment of the card because you must install the replacement card in the same slot.
  10. Save the old card to use as a reference when configuring the new card.
