Migrating from DEFINITY AUDIX

This procedure migrates these releases of DEFINITY AUDIX to the Avaya Intuity:

Customers can migrate to the Intuity AUDIX system from one of two possible configurations of the DEFINITY AUDIX system:

Migration Checklist

To migrate from a DEFINITY AUDIX R3.1, 3.2, or 4.0 system to the Intuity AUDIX system:

Preparing for the migration
  1. Gather the materials and information needed.
  1. Assemble the Intuity AUDIX system. For more information, select your MAP under Assembling the System.
  1. Restore power to the Intuity AUDIX system.
  1. Record the DEFINITY AUDIX profile information.
  1. Contact the MMIS to run a file system check.
  1. X-Port the switch voice ports.
  1. Busy out the switch data link.
  1. Remove the DEFINITY AUDIX ports from the switch hunt group.
  1. Install the migration software on the Intuity AUDIX system.
Migrate the data
  1. Connect the external tape drive.
  1. Back up the DEFINITY AUDIX data.
  1. Preadminister the Intuity AUDIX extension length.
  1. Connect the tape drive and transfer the data.
  2. Note: If the Intuity AUDIX is a MAP/5P, the SCSI interface card is installed during this task.

  1. Verify the data transfer.
  1. If the Intuity AUDIX is a MAP/5P, then follow Removing the SCSI Interface Card.
Complete the administration
  1. Remove the migration software.
  1. Cable the Intuity AUDIX system.
  1. Administer for the switch.
  1. Readminister the voice port information.
  1. Confirm the switch link information.
  1. Release the switch data link.
  1. Complete additional installation tasks.
