Initial Administration for Message Manager

For the initial administration of Avaya Intuity Message Manager, you must administer one or more fields on the Intuity AUDIX System-Parameters IMAPI-Options screen.

  1. Start at the Avaya Intuity Main Menu and select:
  2. AUDIX Administration

    The system displays the AUDIX Command Prompt Screen.

  3. Enter change system-parameters imapi-options at the enter command: prompt.
  4. The system displays the Change System-Parameters IMAPI Options Screen.

  5. Enter the number of maximum simultaneous sessions allowed in the Maximum Simultaneous Sessions: field.

    Tip: This number should match the number indicated in the Total Sessions Purchased: field of the Feature Options window.

  7. Enter the number of simultaneous sessions available in the Simultaneous Session Available for Trusted Server Access: field.

    Tip: Features such as ELA and Internet Messaging use trusted servers. If you want to prevent these features from taking up too much CPU time, limit the number in the Simultaneous Sessions Available for Trusted Server Access: field to a number considerably less than the number in the Total Sessions Purchased: field. The maximum number is 6.

  9. Enter the number of IMAPI session timeout minutes allowed in the IMAPI Session Timeout (minutes): field.

    Tip: Keep this number low, for example 5.

  11. Move the cursor to the Trusted Server Session Timeout (minutes): field and enter the number of minutes with no activity before reviewing the IMAPI session.

    Tip: Keep this number low, for example 5.

  13. Enter y or n in the Check New Messages? field.
  14. Enter y or n in the Deliver CA Message? field.
  15. Enter y or n in the Message Transfer? field.
  16. Press F3 (Enter).
  17. Type exit at the enter command: prompt.
  18. Test Avaya Intuity Message Manager by following the procedures used for testing the TCP/IP connection. Complete these procedures before continuing.
     

    Note: The Avaya Intuity system will not respond to subscribers who have the Avaya Intuity Message Manager software running on their personal computers unless the feature is activated for each subscriber. Subscribers can be administered for the Avaya Intuity Message Manager feature on an individual basis or through the use of a class-of-service assignment.

  19. Once you have tested Message Manager, administer the FAX Messaging feature.
