Administering the Avaya Intuity System for Integration with System 75 DCIU Switches


 

Important! These procedures only apply to System 75 DCIU switches that are connected to a DCIU circuit card. Do not follow these procedures if your System 75 is an inband switch or is not connected to a DCIU circuit card.

For both types of System 75 DCIU integration you must complete the following procedures:

Updating the DCIU Interface Administration Window on a Non-DCS Network


 


When you update the DCIU Interface Administration window, the system resets the DCIU switch link.

To update the Switch Interface Administration window on a non-DCS network:

  1. Start at the Avaya Intuity Main Menu and select:
  2. Switch Interface Administration
    DCIU Interface Administration

    The system displays the System 75 DCIU Interface Administration Window.

  3. Verify the information entered at the top of the System 75 DCIU Interface Administration Window.
  4. Enter the number of digits of the dial plan into the Extension Length: field.
     

    Note: The extension length entered in the Extension Length: field must match the dial plan on the switch. This will be either 3, 4, or 5.

  5. Enter the number of the host switch in the Host Switch Number: field.
  6. Enter the AUDIX number in the AUDIX Number: field.
  7. Enter the logical channel number in the Logical Channel field.
     

    Important! The logical channel must be the same number as the Interface Link and the Remote Processor Channel on the switch.

  8. Enter the switch port in the Switch Port field.
  9. Press F3 (Save) to update the system with the changes you entered.
  10. The system displays the Update DCIU Output Window.

  11. Press F6 (Cancel).
  12. Continue with Setting Address Ranges.

Updating the Switch Interface Administration Window on a DCS Network


 


When you update the DCIU Interface Administration window, the system resets the DCIU switch link.

To update the Switch Interface Administration window on a DCS network:

  1. Enter the number of digits in the dial plan into the Extension Length: field.
  2. Enter the number of the host switch in the Host Switch Number: field.
     

    Important! The host switch number must match the DCS node number on the switch.

  3. Enter the AUDIX number in the AUDIX Number: field.
  4. Enter the logical channel number in the Logical Channel field.
     

    Important! The logical channel must be the same number as the Interface Link and the Remote Processor Channel on the switch.

  5. Enter the switch port in the Switch Port field.
  6. Press F3 (Save).
  7. The system displays a message that indicates the switch link is resetting.

  8. Press F6 (Cancel) to return to the Avaya Intuity Main Menu.
  9. Continue with Administering the DCS Network Time Zone.

Administering the DCS Network Time Zone

To administer the time zones for the individual switches in the DCS network:


 

Note: This window does not change the time zone assignment for the host switch connected to the system. See Date, Time, and Time Zone Settings for procedures on setting the system time zones.

  1. Start at the Avaya Intuity Main Menu and select:
  2. AUDIX Administration

    The system displays the AUDIX Command Prompt Screen.

  3. Enter change switch–time–zone at the enter command: prompt.
  4. The system displays the Change Switch-Time-Zone Command Output Screen.

  5. Enter the time zone and the daylight savings values for each switch.
  6. Press F3 (Enter).
  7. Enter exit to return to the Avaya Intuity Main Menu.
  8. Continue with Setting Address Ranges.

Setting Address Ranges

To set address ranges on the Avaya Intuity system:

  1. Start at the Avaya Intuity Main Menu and select:
  2. AUDIX Administration

    The system displays the AUDIX Command Prompt Screen.

  3. Enter change machine at the enter command: prompt.
  4. The system displays the Machine Profile Screen, Page 1.

  5. Enter the first extension of the range in the Start Ext. field. The range must have the same number of digits as the number in the Extension Length: field.
  6. Enter the ending extension of the range in the End Ext. field. The range must have the same number of digits as the number in the Extension Length: field.
     

    Note: You cannot change the Extension Length: field on this screen. Use the System 75 DCIU Interface Administration Window to change the extension length.

  7. Press F3 (Enter)
  8. .

  9. Enter exit to return to the Avaya Intuity Main Menu.
  10. You have completed the system administration required for a DCS network integration with the System 75 switch.

  11. Stop the voice system.
  12. Start the voice system.
