SW Alarms
SW DCIU_LINK 0
Description:
The host switch is out of data transfer mode. The host switch link might have been out of operation for too long. The system will resolve this alarm when the link returns to operation.
Repair Procedure:
- Starting at the Avaya Intuity Main Menu, select:
Customer/Services Administration
Diagnostics
Switch Interface Diagnostics- Verify that the local switch number has an "I" underneath it.
An "I" indicates that the switch is "in data transfer" and operational. An "O" indicates that the switch is "out of data transfer" and inoperational.
- Verify that the local switch number matches the number that is administered on the switch.
- Verify that all cable connections to the IDI, MPDM are secure.
- Contact your remote maintenance center for further assistance.
SW DCIU_LINK 1
Description:
A remote switch is out of data transfer mode. The remote switch link might have been out of operation for too long. This alarm will be resolved automatically when the link comes up.
Repair Procedure:
- Starting at the Avaya Intuity Main Menu, select:

Description:
The remote switch is stopping transmission of data too frequently.

SW GPSC_BOARD 0
Description:
The GP-Sync or DCIU circuit card failed diagnostics. The system clears this alarm after diagnostics complete successfully.
Repair Procedure:

SW OVERLAN 1
Description:
The host switch link has been out of operation for too long. When the link is not in operation, the Avaya Intuity system will not provide call coverage.
The system will resolve this alarm when the link returns to operation.

SW OVERLAN 2
Description:
A remote switch link has been out of operation too long. When the link is not in operation, the Avaya Intuity system will not provide call coverage for the remote subscribers.
This alarm will be resolved automatically when the link comes up.

Description:
The host switch link has been in- and out-of-service too frequently. When the link is not in operation, the Avaya Intuity system will not provide call coverage.

Description:
A remote switch link has been in- and out-of-service too frequently. When the link is not in operation, the Avaya Intuity system will not provide call coverage for remote subscribers.

Description:
Host name resolution failed. The system cannot match a host name to an IP address. It cannot connect to the system with the host name.

SW OVERLAN 6
Description:
The switch rejected the Avaya Intuity system's session connection attempt. Because of this, the Avaya Intuity system cannot communicate with the switch. Callers will need to enter an extension number to reach a mailbox. Also, they will not be able to transfer to other destinations.

SW OVERLAN 7
Description:
The switch failed to send an acknowledgment message to the Avaya Intuity system's request for a session connection within the allowed period of time. Because of this, the Avaya Intuity system cannot establish a link to the switch. If this condition persists, it will lead to a major alarm indicating that the link is not in operation.
Repair Procedure:

SW OVERLAN 8
Description:
The Avaya Intuity system sent data to the host switch and did not receive an acknowledgment message within the allowed period of time. This condition can be caused by network delays, a loss in LAN connectivity, or problems in the switch that caused it to fail to send the message.

SW OVERLAN 9
Description:
The switch failed to acknowledge the Avaya Intuity system's keep alive message. A keep alive message is a message that the Avaya Intuity system sends to the switch during idle periods or after a fixed interval to ensure that the connection is still good. If this condition persists, it will lead to a major alarm indicating that the link is down.

Description:

The Avaya Intuity system is unable to use some of its information about timeout periods and audits. The audits and the generation of alarms may be affected.

The Avaya Intuity system is unable to use some of its information about timeout periods and retry intervals. The system logs the error and then uses default values.

Description:
The switch is sending invalid options to the Avaya Intuity system and the options may need to be adjusted on the switch side. The Avaya Intuity system cannot establish communication with the switch. Description:

Description:

Description:
The system failed to bind a bad node.

Description:
The system failed to receive data within the switch integration package.

Description:
The system failed during a mode code process. This alarm can occur if a caller to an Intuity AUDIX mailbox presses a telephone key before the system plays the Intuity AUDIX greeting.
Repair Procedure:
- If possible, ask callers to avoid pressing the keys on their telephone before the Intuity AUDIX greeting.
- If the problem persists, contact your remote maintenance center.
SW SOFTWARE 012
Description:
The system failed to log in to a channel after rebooting.
Repair Procedure:
- Dial the extension number associated with the channel that is failing to log in, and verify that the channel answers.
- If the channel does not answer, check the physical connection on the port for that channel.
- If the alarm persists, contact your remote maintenance center.
SW SOFTWARE 013
Description:
The system failed to refresh a message waiting indicator.
Repair Procedure:
The Avaya Intuity system will automatically refresh the message waiting indicator again. However, if the alarm persists, contact your remote maintenance center..
SW SW 1
Description:
One of the following events occurred:
- The system failed to receive a message.
- The system failed to send a message.
- The system experienced a conversion failure in the software.
- The system failed to open an SMDI port.
- The system failed to register a process. If this event occurs, the system answers telephone calls with requests that callers enter extension numbers. While this alarm is active, message waiting indicators are not updated.
- The Avaya Intuity system failed to send call information details to a process within the system. At least one caller was asked to enter an extension number.
- The Avaya Intuity system failed to locate a process. Callers might be asked to enter extension numbers.
- The digital interface circuit card does not match the software installed on the system. The system will not answer telephone calls.
- The writer process started up.

Description:
One of the following events occurred:
- The system failed to open a file.

- The reader process started up.
- The SMDI serial port has no response. One SMDI port is not operational.

- Access the Switch Link Administration screen, and verify the data.
- Stop the voice system.
- Start the voice system.
- If no problems are found, contact your remote maintenance center.
SW SWIN 0
Description:
One of the following events occurred:
- The system failed to locate a process. Callers might be asked to enter extension numbers.
- The multiple hunt group initialization failed. Callers reaching systems that are operating a serial integration (DMS-100 or 5ESS) are asked to enter extension numbers.
- The attendant translation initialization failed. The Avaya Intuity system is unable to operate the Automated Attendant feature.
- The trunk translation initialization failed. If DID lines are directly connected behind the Avaya Intuity system and they are being used as lines to log in to the Avaya Intuity system from outside the switch, the calls carried on these lines will fail.

Description:

- The system is either missing the digital interface circuit card or is unable to use the circuit card installed. The system asks callers to enter extension numbers.
- The system might not be able to identify the type of digital interface circuit installed. When the system answers the telephone, it asks callers to enter extension numbers.
- The system was not able to set some of the digital interface circuit card options. When the system answers the telephone, it asks callers to enter extension numbers.
