Installing Standard Circuit Cards

AYC10 Tip/Ring Circuit Card

Damage from electrostatic discharge is possible. See Protecting Against ESD Damage for more information.

The tip/ring circuit cards provide the channels that are used by the Avaya Intuity system. There are six channels on each tip/ring circuit card. Each of the possible 11 AYC10 tip/ring circuit cards has a unique address. The addresses are set on the card switch bank. There are no jumpers to set on the AYC10 tip/ring circuit card. See the AYC30 Tip/Ring Circuit Card.

To install the circuit card:

  1. Set the switches. See AYC10 and AYC29 Tip/Ring Switch Settings.
  2. Determine the appropriate slot location.
  3. Install the circuit card using the general circuit card installation procedure.

AYC29 Tip/Ring Circuit Card

Damage from electrostatic discharge is possible. See Protecting Against ESD Damage for more information.

The tip/ring circuit cards provide the channels that are used by the Avaya Intuity system. There are six channels on each tip/ring circuit card. The AYC29 tip/ring circuit card is the Australian version of the AYC10 tip/ring circuit card. Each of the possible 11 AYC29 tip/ring circuit cards has a unique address. The addresses are set on the card switch bank. There are no jumpers to set on the AYC29 tip/ring circuit card.See the AYC10 and AYC29 Tip/Ring Circuit Card.

To install the circuit card:

  1. Set the switches. See AYC10 and AYC29 Tip/Ring Circuit Card.
  2. Determine the appropriate slot location.
  3. Install the circuit card using the general circuit card installation procedure.

AYC30 (NGTR) Tip/Ring Circuit Card

Damage from electrostatic discharge is possible. See Protecting Against ESD Damage for more information.

The tip/ring circuit cards provide the channels that are used by the Avaya Intuity system. There are six channels on each tip/ring circuit card. Each of the possible 11 AYC30 tip/ring circuit cards has a unique address. The addresses are set on the card switch bank. There are no jumpers to set on the AYC30 tip/ring circuit card. See AYC30 Tip/Ring Circuit Card.

To install the circuit card:

  1. Set the switches. See AYC30 Tip/Ring Circuit Card Switch Settings.
  2. Determine the appropriate slot location.
  3. Install the circuit card using the general circuit card installation procedure.

CPU Circuit Card

Damage from electrostatic discharge is possible. See Protecting Against ESD Damage for more information.

The CPU is packaged on a single PC/AT-compatible circuit card. There is one CPU circuit card installed in each platform.

Note: The CPU is located on the motherboard in the MAP/5P. There is no CPU circuit card in the MAP/5P.

The CPU circuit card has jumpers and switches that you must verify before you install the circuit card. See CPU Circuit Card and Jumper Locations.

To install the circuit card:

  1. Set the switches. See CPU Circuit Card Jumper and Switch Settings.
  2. Determine the appropriate slot location.
  3. Install the circuit card using the general circuit card installation procedure.

Video Controller Circuit Card

Damage from electrostatic discharge is possible. See Protecting Against ESD Damage for more information.

The platform interfaces with a monitor through the video controller circuit card. There is one video controller card installed on the system. See the PCI Video Controller Circuit Card.

There are no jumpers to set on the PCI video controller circuit card.

To install the circuit card:

  1. Determine the appropriate slot location.
  2. Install the circuit card using the general circuit card installation procedure.

RAID Controller Circuit Card

Damage from electrostatic discharge is possible. See Protecting Against ESD Damage for more information.

The RAID controller circuit card provides the interface to the hard disk drives in a system that includes the RAID feature. Although there is only one RAID controller circuit card installed on the system, two different RAID circuit cards are used in Intuity AUDIX Release 5. See the RAID Controller Circuit Card (DAC960PR) or the RAID Controller Circuit Card (DAC960PRL).

To install the circuit card:

  1. Determine the appropriate slot location.
  2. Install the circuit card using the general circuit card installation procedure.

Remote Maintenance Circuit Cards

Damage from electrostatic discharge is possible. See Protecting Against ESD Damage for more information.

The remote maintenance circuit card provides remote diagnostics of basic components. There is one remote maintenance circuit card installed on the system.

The Avaya Intuity system should not be operated without a remote maintenance circuit card.

The Avaya Intuity system supports remote maintenance circuit cards:

You can determine the type of remote maintenance circuit card that is installed on your system by viewing the faceplate. See Remote Maintenance Circuit Card, and AYC54 Remote Maintenance Circuit Card Faceplate.

Note: The AYC55 remote maintenance circuit card must be connected to an external modem.

The remote maintenance circuit card is equipped with a BEC enable switch. Make sure this switch is set to the ON position.

To install a remote maintenance circuit card:

  1. Make sure the BEC enable switch on the remote maintenance circuit card is in the ON position. See BEC Enable Switch.
  2. Determine the appropriate slot location.
  3. Insert the circuit card.
  4. Reboot the system.

Note: The system must be rebooted twice before the system will recognize the remote maintenance circuit card. See Remote Maintenance Circuit Card Connectors (Top View).

  5. Reboot the system a second time.
  6. Verify the installation by viewing the installed hardware.
  7. If an external modem is used, connect the UART cable to the faceplate of the remote maintenance circuit card.
  8. If an internal modem is used, connect the telephone line to the RJ11 Line In connector on the faceplate of the remote maintenance circuit card. See Remote Maintenance Circuit Card Connectors (Side View) (AYC54 shown).
  9. If an external UPS is used, connect applicable cables to the User Definable Input connector on the faceplate of the remote maintenance circuit card. See AYC55 Remote Maintenance Circuit Card Faceplate.
  10. If you are installing an AYC55 remote maintenance circuit card, administer the circuit card modem attachment.
