This topic provides information about modifying the permission
assigned to existing SNMP communities.
Note: If you change the permission for an existing
community, the community no longer has access to the system
information that it had prior to the change. For example, a
community originally set to trap is being used with an NMS for
alarm management; if you change the community to read-only, the
system lets you do it, even though the NMS is now assigned
a community
that does not have access for alarm management.
To modify an existing SNMP community:
- Start at the Administration menu, and then select Basic
System Administration > SNMP Administration > SNMP
Community Administration.
The system displays the SNMP Community Administration page.
- In the table on this page, select an
SNMP community that you want to modify.
- Click Change.
The system displays the Change An Existing SNMP Community page.
- Complete the fields
on the page. You can click the field names or click Help
on the Web-based administration page to view more information.
- Click Save. The system saves your changes.
- Click OK to confirm your changes. The system
displays the SNMP Community Administration page with an updated
list of
existing
SNMP communities.
- Click Back to return to the SNMP Community
Administration menu, or click Return to Main to
return to the Administration menu.
