Administering SNMP communities

This topic provides information about administering SNMP communities. The system uses SNMP communities as follows:

• To authenticate SNMP requests received from NMSs running SNMP version 1 or SNMP version 2c
• When sending alarm notifications to NMSs

You can perform the following administrative tasks for SNMP communities:

• Add an SNMP community to the system
• Modify an existing SNMP community
• Delete an existing SNMP community
