If you are installing Message Networking on an S3210 or S3210R server or
you are installing on an S3400-H in an international setup, which
requires use of an external modem, you must complete the following
steps to activate the modem.
To configure the modem:
- Log in to the system with the craft or dadmin login and password.
- Start at the Administration menu and select Basic System
Administration > Modem and Terminal Administration >
Configure Modem/Terminal.

online Help for additional information about each field.
- Click Save at the bottom of the page.
Notes:
- Alarm origination can only be set up on the COM2 port, so this
port must be activated before you perform alarm management.
