If your subscribers will be frequently sending
messages to remote email users or to other email addresses, such
as email lists, you can permanently define these email addresses
in your local machine. This way, your subscribers can address messages
to these email addresses using their telephones.
To define a remote email address to the system:
- Start at the Messaging Administration main
menu and select:
Global Administration
Subscriber Management
The system displays the Managing Subscribers page.
Note: If you are accessing the system through a dial-up
connection and you have a large number of remote subscribers administered
on your system, you might want to filter subscribers to reduce the number
of subscribers that display on the Manage Remote Subscribers page. Doing
this allows the page to download more quickly. See Sorting
and filtering remote subscribers for information about filtering subscribers. |
- Click Manage in the Remote Subscribers row
for the specific trusted server or remote machine to which the
remote email user is to be added. If the remote email user does
not have a mailbox on a remote machine, or if you do not see the
remote email user's machine listed, click Manage
in the Remote Subscribers row for Internet.
The system displays the Managing Remote Subscribers page for
the specific remote system.
-
Click Add a New Subscriber.
- Complete the fields on the page as necessary. For more information,
click the field names or Help on the web-based administration
page.
Note: The address that you enter in the
Numeric Address field is the address that local subscribers
will use to send messages to the added remote subscriber
if they use the telephone user interface (TUI) to send messages. |
- Click Save.
The system saves the remote subscriber data and returns to
the Manage Remote Subscribers page
- If you are finished administering remote email users, click
Return to Main.
