If you are informed that a remote
machine (either another Avaya™ S3400 Message Server or an
Avaya™ Message Networking system) has been removed from the
network, you must delete that remote machine from your local S3400
machine. When you delete a remote machine, you also delete any remote
subscribers associated with that remote machine. Machine information
and subscriber information are not removed completely from the system
until a nightly audit runs.
Because deleting a machine removes the remote machine and the remote
subscribers assigned to that machine, before proceeding make sure
that you really want to delete the machine, and then make sure that
you enter the correct remote machine name. If you do make a mistake
when removing a remote machine, you can retrieve
a deleted remote machine before the nightly audit runs.
Note: You
cannot delete the local machine but you can change local machine
information. |
To delete a remote machine:
- Start at the Messaging Administration main
menu and select:
Global Administration
Messaging Administration
The system displays the SSH User Authentication
dialog box. Enter your login, for example, sa or vm, in the User name field
and your password in the Password field. Click Login. The system then
displays the Messaging command prompt screen.
- Enter remove
machine remote_machine_name at the enter command prompt.
Note: If
you do not know the names of the remote machines, enter
list machines at the enter command prompt. The system
displays a list of all machines administered on the system.
|
The system displays
the Remote Machine Profile screen, page 1, and prompts you to
press F3 (Enter) to execute the command.
- Press F3
(Enter) to remove the machine.
The cursor returns
to the command line, and the system displays the following message:
Command Successfully
Completed.
- Enter another
administrative command at the enter command prompt or click Return
to Main.
