Accessing the Messaging command prompt screens

You perform many Message Storage Server (MSS) administration tasks using the Messaging command prompt screens. Through these screens you view information, enter information, and select available system options. You can access these screens using either the sa or the vm login. The sa login can access all of the screens, while the vm login can access only a limited set of the screens.

Using the sa login to access the Messaging command prompt screens

To access the Messaging command prompt screens using the sa login:

  1. Start at the Messaging Administration main menu and select:

    Global Administration
          Messaging Administration

    The system displays the SSH User Authentication dialog box.

  2. Enter your sa password in the in the Password field and click Login.

  3. The system then displays the Messaging command prompt screen and a rectangle cursor appears at the enter command prompt.

  4. At the enter command prompt, enter a command that allows you to access the specific screen that you want.

Using the vm login to access the Messaging command prompt screens

To access the Messaging command prompt screens using the vm login:

  1. Start at the Messaging Administration main menu (vm login version) and click Messaging Administration.

    The system displays the SSH User Authentication dialog box.

  2. Enter your vm password in the in the Password field and click Login.

  3. The system then displays the Messaging command prompt screen and a rectangle cursor appears at the enter command prompt.

  4. At the enter command prompt, enter a command that allows you to access the specific screen that you want.
