This topic describes how to edit local subscriber
information on your Avaya™ S3400 Message Server. The information
that you can edit includes subscriber names, email handles, classes-of-service,
and many other basic, directory, security, and mailbox feature settings.
You edit local subscriber information on the Edit Local Subscriber
web-based administration page.
Note: You can use this
procedure or the Mailbox Manager application to edit or modify
subscribers. It is recommended that you use Mailbox Manager
if you have to edit a large number of subscribers, since you
can edit multiple subscribers at once instead of editing each
subscriber individually. For more information about Mailbox
Manager, see the Mailbox Manager User Guide. |
You can change a subscriber's name or mailbox
number without disrupting mailing lists because a unique, system-generated
subscriber ID, not the name or mailbox number, actually links the
subscriber's mailbox to lists. (The system-generated ID is not accessible
to you.) Lists are automatically updated with name changes. For
example, if Jane Doe is on a mailing list and her name is changed
to Jane Smith, the list is updated automatically to reflect the
change.
To edit a local subscriber:
- Start at the Messaging Administration main
menu and select:
Global Administration
Subscriber Management
The system displays the Managing Subscribers page.
- In the Local Mailbox Number field, enter the subscriber's local
mailbox number and click Edit Subscriber.
If you do not know the subscriber's local mailbox number, do
the following:
Note: If you are accessing the system through a dial-up
connection and you have a large number of local subscribers administered
on your system, you may want to filter subscribers to reduce the number
of subscribers that display on the Manage Local Subscribers page. Doing
this allows the page to download more quickly. See Sorting
and filtering local subscribers for information about filtering subscribers. |
- Click Manage in the Local Subscribers row.
- Highlight the name of the subscriber whose settings you want
to edit.
- Click Edit the Selected Subscriber.
The system displays the Edit Local Subscriber page.
- Continue with Step 3.
- Modify the fields on the Edit Local Subscriber page as necessary.
For more information, click the field names or Help.
- Click Save to save the change.
The system saves the changes and returns you to the Manage
Local Subscribers page or the Managing Subscribers page, whichever
you were using previously.
Note: It may take from 5 to 10 minutes
for the Messaging Application Servers (MASs) to learn about
this change. |
- Click Return to Main if you are finished editing local
subscribers.
