Configuring Avaya Modular Messaging basic information |
Avaya Modular Messaging basic information includes voice mail user defaults, such as mailbox number, extension number, and numeric address.
Complete the following fields on the Modular Messaging property page, as required.
| Note: Local mailbox numbers cannot begin with 0 (zero). This is because 0 has special functionality in the TUI. |
You can also click Options to enter one or more secondary extensions. A secondary extension allows a subscriber to handle calls from different types of callers in different ways. For example, the subscriber may have a publicized number for outside callers that has different greetings than the greetings recorded for the number used by inside callers. See Configuring a secondary extension.
If you are using Octel Analog Networking, the numeric address length must not exceed 10 digits. For guidance on setting up a numeric addressing scheme, see the Avaya Modular Messaging Concepts and Planning Guide.
The times that the personal operator mailbox is active are determined by the currently selected personal operator schedule. For more information, see Selecting a personal operator schedule.
