An Avaya MAS supports the following Intel Dialogic analog port
boards:
- D/120JCT-LS 12-port analog boards: up to 4, depending on the
telephone user interface used. For more information, see Dialogic
document D120JCT-LS
(pdf).
- D/41JCT-LS 4-port analog boards: up to 4 for a new MAS, or up
to 5 for Release 1 upgrades only. For more information, see Dialogic
document D41JCT-LS (pdf).
Note: The Dialogic documentation describes more setups than
the ones used for Avaya Modular Messaging. If information in a Dialogic
document conflicts with an Avaya document, follow the steps in the
Avaya documentation. You can use the Dialogic documentation to locate
various items on the board or verify cable connections.
To set the jumpers and switches for a new or replacement analog
board, see the appropriate section:
Settings for D/120JCT-LS 12-port analog boards
To set the jumpers and switches for a new or replacement D/120JCT-LS
12-port analog board:
- Set the unique board ID for the port board. Turn the rotary
switch, located on the top of the card. Set the board ID according
to the slot number in which the port board is installed. See the
following table.
Insert Dialogic port boards in the PCI slots starting from
the outer edge of the chassis. See figure Messaging
Application Server (back view).

- Set the hook-switch state of the port board to ON so
callers hear a busy signal when the board is not initialized.
Use the SW1 switch, located at the top of the board, to
set the hook-switch state. See figure Setting
a Dialogic analog board on-hook switch.
Settings for D/41JCT-LS 4-port analog boards
To set the jumpers and switches for a new or replacement D/41JCT-LS
4-port analog board:
- Set the unique board ID for the port board. Turn the SW30
rotary switch, located on the top of the board. Set the board
ID according to the slot number in which the port board is installed.
See the following table.

- Set the hook-switch state of the port board to ON so
callers hear a busy signal when the board is not initialized.
Use the red SW4 switch, located near the top of the board,
to set the hook-switch state. See figure Setting
a Dialogic analog board on-hook switch.
- If more than one 4-port board is installed in the server, set
the boards on both ends of the Computer Telephony (CT) bus for
bus termination. Use the JP2 jumper to set CT bus termination
as shown in the following table:
