When you activate alarm origination, the system sends notification
of alarms that originates on the MSS to a remote
location that you specify, such as the remote service center. Modular Messaging supports alarm notification using SNMP, dialing out through a modem to INADS, or sending alarm information to an internet destination using HTTPS.
If you are administering alarm notification using SNMP, use the Configure Alarms page to set up your primary network management station
(NMS). If you want to set up additional NMSs
to receive alarm notification, see Administering SNMP NMSs for alarms.
