An alarm indicates a hardware, software, or environmental problem
that could affect MSS operation.
The system displays alarms in the Alarm log. For information about
how to access this log, see Viewing the MSS Alarm log.
How to find information about a specific
alarm
The alarm descriptions and resolution procedures in this section
are organized by the alarm application identifier (ID), which is
the two-letter code used to identify the application or subsystem
for which an alarm is being generated.
For example, the application ID for the MT BACKUP 1 alarm is MT.
If you want to find information about the MT BACKUP 1 alarm, see
the MT (Maintenance) alarms information.
The following information is provided about each alarm:
- Description: A brief description about the alarm.
- Repair procedure: The steps that you can take to resolve the alarm. In some cases, no action is required. In other cases, you cannot resolve the alarm yourself and you must contact your remote support center.
Alarm information is organized as follows:
See System reboot event log error for information on an error message that might be displayed on any MAS or MSS server that uses the integrated video and LAN motherboard.
Note: For information on events and their associated
repair procedures, see Events.
