Settings for Dialogic analog boards

An Avaya Modular Messaging system supports the following Dialogic analog port boards:

  • D/120JCT-LS 12-port analog boards (up to 4, depending on the telephone user interface used). See Dialogic document D120JCT-LS (pdf) for details.
  • D/41JCT-LS 4-port analog boards (up to 4 for a new MAS, or up to 5 for Release 1 upgrades only). See Dialogic document D41JCT-LS (pdf) for details.

Note: The Dialogic brochures cover more setups than the ones used for Avaya Modular Messaging. If information in a Dialogic document conflicts with this Avaya maintenance document, follow the steps provided in the Avaya documentation. The Dialogic documentation is provided as a convenience to help you locate various items on the board, and to verify cabling procedures.

To set the jumpers and switches for a new or replacement analog board, see the appropriate section:

Settings for D/120JCT-LS 12-port analog boards

To set the jumpers and switches for a new or replacement D/120JCT-LS 12-port analog board:

  1. Set the unique board ID for the new card. Turn the rotary switch, located on the top of the card, to set the board ID according to the slot in which you are installing it. See the table below.

Insert Dialogic port boards in the PCI slots starting from the outer edge of the chassis. See figure Messaging Application Server (back view).

  2. Set the hook-switch state of the new card to ON so that callers hear a busy signal when the card is not initialized. Use the SW1 switch, located at the top of the card, to set the hook-switch state. See figure Setting a Dialogic analog board on-hook switch.

Settings for D/41JCT-LS 4-port analog boards

To set the jumpers and switches for a new or replacement D/41JCT-LS 4-port analog board:

  1. Set the unique board ID for the new card. Turn the SW30 rotary switch, located on the top of the card, to set the board ID according to the slot in which you are installing it. See the table below.

Insert Dialogic port boards in the PCI slots starting from the outer edge of the chassis. See figure Messaging Application Server (back view).
