Replacing the cover and bezel

The front bezel and top cover are removed for most maintenance procedures.

To replace the top cover and bezel:

  1. Position the top cover so that the latch hook is in back, and the rail hooks face towards the rear of the machine. See figure Removing or replacing the cover.
  2. Set the cover on the chassis so that it is aligned with the sides and slightly overhangs the front of the machine.
  3. Slide the cover towards the back of the machine until it is flush with the chassis.
  4. For a rack-mount unit: Slide the machine back into the cabinet.
  5. Note: If you unplugged any cables, reconnect them now. See figure:

  6. Tighten the screw latch on the rear of the chassis to secure the top cover.
  7. Replace the bezel (plastic cover) on the front of the chassis. See figure Removing or replacing the front bezel.
    1. Insert the tabs on the bottom of the bezel into the chassis.
    2. Push the bezel upright until the two upper tabs snap into place under the top cover.
  8. For a stackable (desktop) configuration: Replace any units that were stacked on top of this machine.
  9. Continue with Restoring power to the system.
