Use this screen to activate the firmware on one or more Internet Protocol Server Interface (IPSI) circuit packs (TN2312). Typically, IPSIs automatically activate newly downloaded firmware when they are reset, regardless of how the reset was initiated (from this screen, as a result of a power failure, and so forth).
Use this screen only after you have already downloaded
firmware to the IPSI board. For information about the download process,
see Download IPSI Firmware.
This screen enables you to schedule IPSI resets to activate a new firmware version, but the new firmware could activate earlier if the IPSIs are reset for other reasons. When you reset the IPSIs from this screen, the resets occur whenever the resetipsi command gets around to them, even if the IPSIs are busy handling calls.
You could alternatively use ASA to activate new IPSI firmware,
in which case you can busy-out the IPSI prior to resetting it. The advantage
of using this web interface is that it enables you to schedule the IPSI
resets and to reset multiple IPSIs using a single command.
To activate an IPSI upgrade:
On the main menu under IPSI Firmware Upgrades, select Activate IPSI Upgrade.
Select the IPSI for which you want to activate new firmware by clicking the corresponding radio button:
All IPSIs. Choose this selection if you want to activate the firmware for every IPSI in your system.
IPSI on carrier number __ carrier ID __. Choose this selection if you want to activate the firmware for a single IPSI in your system. You must enter a carrier number and select a carrier ID to specify the IPSI.
Select a time when you want the firmware activation to begin by clicking the corresponding radio button:
Begin Activation Now. Choose this selection to reset the IPSI and activate the firmware immediately.
Scheduled to Start at. Choose this selection to reset the IPSI and activate the firmware at a time you specify. You must select the month, day, year, hour, and minute you want the activation to begin.
If the date and time you specify have already passed,
the system assumes the reset should occur in the following year.
Select a time when you want the firmware activation to stop by clicking Do NOT continue after. You must also select the month, day, year, hour, and minute you want the firmware activation to stop.
The resets start at the scheduled time and must complete
before the stop time. If the resets have not completed by the stop time,
they will be halted.
Click Activate IPSI Upgrade.
