Configure Server wizard

You must configure each Avaya media server to provide service. Quite possibly a software upgrade will introduce new fields or screens to be completed; see Software installation for details.

Before you begin:

• Allow up to 1 hour to configure the servers the first time.
• Do not stop for more than 30 minutes or you may lose data (see the warning below).
• Keep your completed preinstallation worksheet handy for crucial IP information.
• Make sure you coordinated the IP addresses, DNS, and network time server information with the LAN administrator. Save this contact information if difficulties arise.

Caution: Complete this procedure with few interruptions to prevent the configuration information from being lost.  Most information is only written to the server at the end of the process. If you quit the process (log off or time-out), the data entered will be lost. You need to access a link at least once every 30 minutes, or you are logged off by the server.

Once you start the configuration process, you must complete in sequence all the screens. Do other tasks and access other screens or windows while your configuration window is open, but only if you return to the Configure Server window and continue the procedure where you left off.
