Inquiry About Using Avaya Cloud Documentation for AES and Call Recording

Hello, I am new to Avaya AES and I would like to know if the documentation available at https://docs.avayacloud.com/aspx/rest is applicable for using Avaya AES. Specifically, I am interested in understanding how I can record calls using Avaya AES. Any guidance or resources you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

No those documents are not applicable to AE Services.
unfortunately the document that is a great getting started guide is too big to put in the forum.. can you share an email address that I can send it to (via private messaging).

Pablo - If you are going to be providing commercial solutions that leverage AES APIs, we would recommend that you obtain a membership in the Avaya DevConnect Program to gain access to enhanced developer support and formal compliance testing of your solution. Compliance testing results in a published Application Note here on Avaya support, which guides customers and sales teams on how to successfully integrate with your solution. For more information, email [email protected] and ask about a Support-enabled or Technology Partner membership.

Yes—the Avaya Cloud REST docs only cover the Communications API (CPaaS)—that’s different from AES. For AES (Application Enablement Services), call recording typically uses TSAPI and DMCC APIs, not the CPaaS REST endpoints.

TSAPI – provides CTI events (e.g. call start/end, parties involved). You’ll need one TSAPI license per monitored extension
DMCC – also requires a license per device, and lets you actively record VoIP media using methods like Single‑Step Conference (SSC), Service Observe (SO), or Multiple Registration (MR)

                Hi all,
I'm also exploring Avaya AES for call recording purposes and found this thread really useful. Just wanted to ask has anyone here integrated DMCC with a third-party recorder, and how was the licensing handled on the AES side?

Also curious if there's any recent documentation or sample code available the official docs are a bit fragmented. Thanks in advance!
