Document that explains best practices for creating a softphone

Hey gang! I'm hoping Avaya has some document that explains best practices for creating a softphone? Something like I've seen in the "Device and Media Control API XML Programmer Guide", but I'm looking for something a bit more comprehensive. Something that would have things like, do you need to call the "SnapshotDevice" endpoint every time you want to do something with an extension? What's the best practice etc..

Thanks for any help and/or suggestions!

    Dave

If you want to build a standalone softphone that an end user would use, you want to be looking at the Client SDK.

There are so many varied use cases for 'softphones' though, there is no comprehensive guide for how to build one. Pretty much all the documentation you will find can be categorized as lists of ingredients, not recipe books.
