Core PBX and LSP software match?

When it comes to service packs, do LSP need to be the same as Core CM for filesync to work? I am planning on updating the SP in the Core CM but not all of our LSPs.

Service pack/patch level does not need to match but it is best practice. As long as the major and minor release of the survivable server is equal to or greater than the main server, filesync should work.
