    Avaya Media Server transcoding

    Hi,
I would like to ask a question.
I would like to simulate in our lab mid-call-codec change.
I made a call from 'customer' (a different PBX that connected to the Avaya via SIP trunk to SM) to Avaya softphone (OneX H323), the call was established with codec G711U.
I transfer this call to a second agent (on another network region with codec set 2 that has only codec 729), the call was established between the 'customer' to the second agent with codec G729 (on the agent side).
once I check the call, I can see that the agent side is on G729, but on the customer, side is G711U (as the first call).
I checked the SIP trunk and it seems that the media server was doing transcoding so the agents get G729 and the 'customer' still got G711U.
Can we somehow disable this transcoding?

it's also with the conference - the first agent is with G711U and the second agent is talking with the conference bridge (that is located on the media server) on the G729 codec.

Can you advise if we can disable the media server transcoding?

    Thanks,

    Hello,

Can you let me know what IP-Network-Regions are involved here along with what IP-Codec-Set is assigned to each Network Region? AAMS might doing the transcoding because that IP-Codec-Set assigned to that Network Region because that is configured for G.729 and G.711 codecs.
