Just wondering why the cm upgrade document dint mention this,
It says we need to upgrade 3 to 4.0.5 and then upgrade to 6.2?
Are they taking about full upgrade (translation,server and security files) ?

Backing up the CM translations from CM 3.x and plugging them to CM 6.x might not be the best choice. Although CM translations are backward compatibile, however, there are serveral changes done from CM 3.x to CM 6.x data structures and just plugging the CM 3.x translations to CM 6.x might introduce translation corruption and in worst case scenario get one to either rebuilt the whole CM administration, or choose an alternative method. 1st, you would need to upgrade to CM 4.0.5, then install pre-upgrade patch and then backup the translations. I recommend following the Avaya recommendation. Please take a look at the upgrade path below
