    SYNC over ATM question

    I have a question concerning slips on tn464 boards. When I test the boards I get slip errors with a error count ranging from 1 to 9 against test 144. If I retest quickly then it tests clean. I have changed the sync source without effect. I have several buildings that sync off of the ATM network and one that syncs off a local T1. I get the same results from all of the ATM connected buildings. I am not receiving any complaints from the customer so I am wondering if these are false errors or something that I should be worried about. We are using ATM PNC in most locationa and IP connect in some locations. The IP connected locations are not receiving any slips, just the ATM connected PN's.I am running CM 5.2, S8720's, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    ATM sync issue resloved

    The tier 3 engineer found that some of the ATM EI boards had stopped taking timing from the network. In order to force the EI boards to start syncing again he issued "change sync atm", entered the slot location of a ds1. Then he issued "test sync atm", forcing the EI boards to re-sync. That cleared the sync problem.
